#RunWalkTalk -Danesmoor

Thursday 12th March marked another fantastic #RunWalkTalk event — this time in the wonderful community of Danesmoor, hosted at St Barnabas Community Centre.

We were delighted to welcome over 70 participants including our partners, to celebrate the local area and enjoy a walk or jog together.

This event also featured a community litter pick, during which volunteers collected 13 bags of rubbish while exploring the surrounding neighborhood — a brilliant effort that made a real difference.

We offered a range of activities to suit everyone:

• Chris, our Jog Group Mentor, led a 3‑mile circular run.

• Joy joined the Litter Pick Walk, covering approximately 1 mile through Sharley Park and nearby roads.

• Hayley from North East Derbyshire District Council guided a 3‑mile walk around the area.

• Tim Adwick from Mindscapes hosted an inclusive ‘Snap & Chat’ walk, welcoming participants of all abilities to take photographs inspired by the alphabet.

We were also joined by representatives from a variety of organisations, including Rykneld Homes, The Volunteer Centre Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire, Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service, Live Stronger for Longer (Age UK Derby & Derbyshire), Derbyshire County Council, Clay Cross Active, and many others. Their presence added enormous value by sharing information, supporting participants, and sparking new connections and potential collaborations.

After our walks and runs, we were treated to delicious cakes and treats from Infinite Wellbeing CIC.

Yet another brilliant event bringing people together, promoting well-being, and strengthening community ties. 💚🌿
